Summary

A multi-location tire and auto service business in Central Washington had built its reputation on repeat customers and word-of-mouth. Service quality was strong. Organic visibility was not — negligible page-one keyword coverage, and the website generated almost no independent lead flow.

As paid ad costs in the automotive category climbed, the client needed an owned channel: local searches like "tire shop near me" and "brake repair [city]" had to start finding them before a competitor did.

Over roughly three years, our team built a long-term local SEO program — technical fixes, service and location content, and monthly rank tracking across hundreds of terms. Annual organic search traffic rose 46% year over year, search impressions grew 243% at peak, and page-one keyword rankings rose more than sixfold.

The Challenge

Despite strong in-shop service, the business had almost no visibility in organic search. The site generated minimal independent lead flow, and the paid landscape in automotive services was getting more expensive quarter over quarter.

High-intent local queries — flat tires, brake issues, same-day oil changes — were going to competitors who had invested in local SEO years earlier. The client needed a scalable, owned channel to reduce customer acquisition costs and capture demand when it was most urgent.

The Strategy

Our team built a long-term local SEO program centered on three pillars:

Technical & on-site optimization

cleaning up site architecture, page speed, and local schema markup to improve crawlability and local relevance signals.

Content & keyword expansion

systematically building out service and location pages to compete for a much wider set of high-intent, transactional search terms.

Continuous rank tracking & iteration

monthly keyword-position monitoring across hundreds of target terms, allowing the strategy to adapt as rankings moved.

Organic Traffic Growth

Monthly organic search traffic rose 46% year over year, with a peak monthly gain of 164% above the May 2024 baseline during the Q1 2025 surge.

Why It Matters

For a local service business, page-one rankings translate directly into phone calls and store visits — not just traffic. Growing page-one rankings more than sixfold means the business now shows up for hundreds of the specific searches customers use when they have an urgent, high-intent need.

That shift moved the business from relying on paid ads and referrals to owning a durable, compounding organic channel — one that keeps working after the campaign budget is spent.
